Islamabad: The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and former Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJK chapter, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has strongly condemned the large scale arrests of Hurriyat leaders, crackdowns and home searches of pro-freedom people and parties and shifting of detainees to Indian jails.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad also denounced the shifting of Muhammad Yaseen Malik to New Delhi’s Tihar jail, India’s failure to release long-term freedom prisoners despite court orders, assaults on women, damage to the eyes of Raja Begum of Palhalan Pattan during her home’s search operation by Indian troops and killing of several youth in the Valley-vide army operations.

He said India’s farcical elections in parts of Kashmir aimed at hoodwinking the world opinion about harsh realities of Indian occupation over J&K.

He emphasized the major powers and organizations like UN, EU, OIC to consider Kashmir a long standing dispute of the right of self-determination and initiate result-oriented measures to resolve it and urge on India to withdraw all anti-human rights laws from the occupied area and release all political leaders and workers.

Farooq Rehmani demanded all Kashmiris languishing in different Indian prisons be shifted back to their homeland without delay. He condemned the use of NIA and ED against the Kashmiri leaders and said that it would end in failure.
