AJK accountability bureau recovers Rs. 23 lakh in greater water supply scandal case

MUZAFFARABAD:   (Parliament Times)The AJK accountability bureau has recovered 23 lakh rupees in the greater water supply scandal case in Mirpur through plea bargain and deposited it in the government exchequer.

According to a press release of the AB and the details of the case greater water supply and sewerage project of Mirpur was approved in 2005 but it was not completed within the stipulated time. According to agreement and work order the firm ACE Lahore did not deposit back up and break up for third party report which cost 23 lac rupees’ loss to the government exchequer.

The accused confessing their fault requested to deposit 23 lakh rupees in the AB account through plea bargain. The court accepted the request of the accused and ordered for collection of money from the defendants. The AB also freezed more than 3 crore rupees in the mode of payments, for substandard and faulty work.
