MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The minister for works Ch. Muhammad Aziz said that drastic steps should be taken to check the overloading and overweight to save the roads from being destroyed.
He was replying to a question of MLA Sagheer Chughtai in the AJK legislative assembly on Friday. The minister said government was spending hugely on the roads and was taking necessary steps to better the condition of the roads.
The minister was of the view that weight and measurement stations should be set up on all the major roads and highways of the State. He said fine would be imposed more than 15 percent overloading. The causes of destruction of roads must be addressed, he added. He expressed thanks to Sagheer Chughtai for pointing out this important issue in the house.
