RAWALPINDI: (Parliament Times) Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar visited the office of Parks and Horticulture Authority (PHA) Rawalpindi and planted a sapling at the lawn of PHA. He was also briefed about the working of PHA Rawalpindi and its future plans. In the meeting presided over by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar a proposal was discussed to constitute a Task Force to protect historic and old buildings of Rawalpindi. The meeting also decided to take measures to restore old mosques, Hindu temples and worship places of minorities to their original shape. The meeting also decided to construct parking plazas to resolve traffic issues in Rawalpindi. The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction over the performance and planning of PHA Rawalpindi and said every city of Punjab including Rawalpindi will be beautified. The Punjab Government will take all out measures to increase beauty of Rawalpindi. Instruction has been issued to beautify entry end and exit points of the cities and citizens should play their active role in this regard along with government departments. He said protection and look after of historic and old buildings is our national responsibility and the constitution of Task Force for this purpose is being reviewed. He said we are considering to convert Haveli Sajaan Singh into a museum. Chairman PHA Rawalpindi Asif Mehmood in his detailed briefing on the Authority said the Authority will make a record by planting 25 thousand saplings in a day in adjoining areas of Rawalpindi. Colour light affects will be illuminated at the pillars of Metro Bus Service with the collaboration of a private sector company. He said sign-boards of same patterns will be displayed in the old bazars of Rawalpindi. Provincial Ministers Raja Basharat, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed, Raja Rashid Hafeez, Parliamentarians, Secretaries and concerning senior officials also attended the meeting.
