Missile test by India in space a threat to world nations: FO

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has termed missile tests by India in space a threat to world nations.

“Missile test conducted by India in space is sheer breach of international laws. Space is common inheritance of all human beings. Such tests will pose threats to the world nations”, this was said by Dr Muhammad Faisal in his weekly briefing at Foreign office (FO) Thursday.

He said that dossier received from India with reference to Pulwama attack has been reviewed. However the information received from India are insufficient and are not credible. Pakistan connection with Pulwama attack could not be proved.

Pakistan while giving replies to all questions raised by India has said if India has actionable intelligence and credible evidence then these should be provided to Pakistan. Pakistan is ready to extend more cooperation in this regard.

He said no mention has been made in Indian dossier about Maulana Masood Azhar. The matter related to Maulana Masood Azhar however is under consideration of committee. In the prevailing situation bringing the matter in UN Security Council is not correct.

Dr Faisal held that acquittal of culprits in Samjhota Express case is a flagrant mockery of justice. All the accused involved in Samjhota Express attacks had confessed their offence. Pakistan summoned Indian high commissioner on the matter of acquittal of those involved in Samjhota Express attacks and voiced strong protest over it. There are not such circumstances in Occupied Kashmir under which the elections could be held therein.

He underlined Pakistan protests against Israeli occupation of disputed Golan heights in Syrian territory. The acceptance of Israeli occupation on Golan Heights by US is violation of international laws.

Responding to a question he said that it should be avoided to bring matters related to Afghan issue to media. Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan statement on Afghan government was misinterpreted in media. Zalmay Khalilzad is coming to Pakistan soon. However the date for his arrival in Pakistan has not been set.

He said the diplomats should talk within diplomatic norms. PM Imran Khan has played a pivotal role in Afghan issue.

He held that Pakistan can move international court of justice on the matter of release of accused persons in Smajhota Express attacks.
