ISLAMABAD: (Parliament Times) India is pushing for a Syria-like situation in Kashmir. YFK–International Kashmir Lobby Group issues a statement on Tuesday in the Federal Capital Islamabad regarding the ban on Kashmiri political parties by India’s govt.
Executive Director YFK Ahmed Quraishi said that, “The ban on political parties indicates India’s insistence on committing mistakes in Kashmir and aggravating the conflict”. He raised some questions that, “How does banning an established political party help bring peace? Does New Delhi want to push members underground, or push them to violence?”
“India wants to create a Syria-like situation in Kashmir so it can justify use of massive, disproportionate force against civilians. The solution is simple, should Indian leaders listen: withdraw the army and start peace talks”, Quraishi said.
YFK–International Kashmir Lobby Group (Youth Forum For Kashmir) is a non-partisan INGO, working for the peaceful resolution of Kashmir Conflict in accordance with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.
