ZHOB: Like elsewhere in Balochistan, Pakistan Day also celebrated with national sprit and fervour on Saturday here in Zhob and Sherani districts. The day commemorates the passing of the Lahore Resolution – around 8 decades back, when the All-India Muslim League demanded a separate nation for the Muslims of the British-Indian Empire.
In this connection Zhob Militia 52 Wing held a rally in Mani Khwa, which was led by Wing Commander Lieutenant Col Zahid Mehmood. Tribal leaders, civil and military officers attended the rally. Wing Commander Lieutenant Col Zahid Mehmood while speaking on the occasion, paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the freedom movement and founders of the country, who made the creation of Pakistan possible. He emphasized the importance of unity for peace, stability and progress of the country.
“Today the nation renews the pledge to work hard for progress, peace and prosperity of the country,” adding we should forget our differences and get united, as unity and large-heatedness are good human values. He said.
The day also celebrated with enthusiasm and fervor in Sambaza area of Zhob at 104 Wing headquarters. Wing Commander Lieutenant Col Muzamil Khan led a rally, which was attended by notables, FC personnel and children. Prays and recitation of the Holy Quran offered for the progress and prosperity of the country. Lt Col Muzamil Khan also paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the Pakistan movement.
Meanwhile, to mark the day a function also held at Model high school Zhob, where Advisor to CM Mutha Khan Kakar was the chief quest. The event was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jabbar Baloch, District Education Officer Lal Jan Musakhail, Assistant Commissioners, principal Habib-ur-Rehman Mandokhail, Dr. Muzaffar Shah, Wazir Nasar and others, who spoke on the occasion.
