RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has linked NOC to tree plantation in 100 housing societies located within its jurisdiction.
Planting 1000 saplings on every 100 kanal land has been made binding on housing societies.
According to media reports, chairman RDA Arif Abbasi in order to make Plant for Pakistan and Clean and Green Pakistan campaign a success has made it binding on 100 housing societies operating in the limits of RDA to plant at least 1000 saplings in every 100 kanal in their respective areas. The society which owns 100 kanal should plant 1000 saplings and the society which spans 700 kanals should plant 7000 saplings.
At present 32 approved housing societies and 68 unapproved housing societies are operating within RDA jurisdiction and their NOC has been linked to tree plantation condition. If they fail to plant saplings within one month, no NOC will be issued to them.
