    Water level in Mangla Dam starts raising

    MIRPUR (AJK): As a result of the due advent of melting of snow at the upper reaches of the Himalayan state of Jammu & Kashmir state following the rapid change of weather, the water level in Mangla dam, located in Mirpur district of AJK, has started raising gradually, official sources said.

             The water level in Mangla dam was reported as 1126.70 feet against  maximum conservation level 1242 feet WITH  live storage  of 0.972 MAF on Saturday, official sources told APP here on Saturday. The inflows of Jhelum river at Mangla reservoir was reported as 22100 cusecs with the  outflows of 20000 cusecs of water from the reservoir on Saturday
    
    
    
            Meanwhile, the overall position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages remained on  Saturday as under:-

    Rivers: Indus at Tarbela: Inflows 19000 cusecs and Outflows 20000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 11200 cusecs and Outflows 11200 cusecs, River Jhelum at Mangla: Inflows 22100 cusecs and Outflows 20000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala: Inflows 15300 cusecs and Outflows 4000 cusecs.

    Barrages: Jinnah: Inflows 36300 cusecs and Outflows 31300 cusecs, Chashma: Inflows 31000 cusecs and Outflows 32600 cusecs, Taunsa: Inflows 29800 cusecs and Outflows 25800 cusecs, Panjnad: Inflows 8600 cusecs and Outflows 1600 cusecs, Guddu: Inflows 34000 cusecs and Outflows 30800 cusecs, Sukkur: Inflows 23500 cusecs and Outflows 3200 cusecs, Kotri: Inflows 7400 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.

    Reservoirs (Level and Storage):

            Tarbela: Minimum operating level 1392 feet, present level 1393.35 feet, maximum conservation level 1550 feet, live storage Saturday 0.012 million acre feet (MAF).
    
            Mangla: Minimum operating level 1050 feet, present level 1126.70 feet, maximum conservation level 1242 feet, live storage Saturday 0.972 MAF.
    
            Chashma: Minimum operating level 638.15 feet, present level 638.15 feet, maximum conservation level 649 feet, live storage Saturday  0.000 MAF.
    
            The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 a.m on Saturday.
