Islamabad: (Parliament Times) The two-day long ‘Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit’ successfully concluded at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad on March 14th, 2019.

Over 50 international delegates participated in the event, and through various panel discussions, shared their ideas on a wide range of subjects, including, “The geo-political backdrop”, “The future of work”, “The future of diversity and inclusion”, “Future world, through responsive leadership”.

The national and international delegates, and honorable guests included Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Federal Minister for Finance & Economic Affairs, Asad Umar, Federal Minister & Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce, Textile, Investment and Industries & Production, Abdul RazakDawood, and the Minister of State for HRD & Overseas Pakistanis, Syed Zulfikar Abbas Bukhari.

Addressing the delegates, Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said, “Imagining the unimaginable is a wonderful theme because it makes you think beyond the boundaries of reality and helps you do wonders and things that seem simply impossible to do.”

Abacus Consulting, Pakistan’s leading advisory and technology consultancy, partnered with Nutshell Forum to present the third edition of the ‘Leaders in Islamabad Business Summit’ as part of its ambition to align itself as the industry leader in executive leadership development. In line with this goal, earlier this year, Abacus entered a partnership with the Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), a US-based global executive development institution that develops leaders and helps them make the journey to top management positions.

During the Summit, Fatima Asad Said, Regional Director, Abacus Consulting participated in a panel discussion on ‘The Future of Diversity and Inclusion’.

“Organizations have now adopted an approach of diversity and inclusion which nurtures the skills and abilities of individuals regardless of their gender, ethnicity, religion, disability, education, and national origin, transforming them into the leaders for tomorrow,” said Fatima Asad Said. “Organizations today need to attract the right talent with the best minds and skills through continuous trainings”, she added.

Federal Minister for Finance & Economic Affairs, Asad Umar said, “There is no shortcut to induct talent into the system. Even in the public offices now, the policy makers are appointed solely on the basis of merit, skills and abilities to perform well in their domain.” He added, “Political affiliations do not matter anymore and only quality professionals make it to the top who possess the required skill set.”

More than 700 delegates attended the two-day conference, including CEOs, Ministers and journalists from international media.
