MUZAFFARABAD : (Parliament Times) The AJK legislative assembly resumed its special session here on Wednesday with Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir in chair.
Replying to a call attention notice of former Prime Minister Ch. Abdul Majeed, minister for law and parliamentary affairs Sardar Farooq Ahmed Tahir, said that encroachment in Mirpur city was being removed on the order of apex court. He told that government was taking measures to widen streets and bazars to beautify the city on priority. He said that on the direction of SC a high level committee was constituted adding that 80% plots were regularized on the recommendations of the committee. Committee recommended that 20% plots may be cancelled, he explained.
Replying to another call attention notice, AJK Prime Minister and leader of the house remarked that people of Mirpur have rendered sacrifices hence no injustice should be done to any of them. He said encroachments are being removed on the order of SC to widen the streets and bazars. He said government was also taking measures on priority to beautify Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli and Bhimber districts. He assured that matters would be settled in consultation with the former Premier. Cities would be facilitated by widening streets and bazars, he added.
The house unanimously approved two legislative bills including The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Finance Supplementary (Amendment) act 2019 and The Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (Amendment) act 2019. Two legislative bills The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Factories Act 2018 and the AJK Anti-Terrorism (Amendment) Act 2018 were sent to selective committees by Minister of Law.
The law minister in consultation with leader of the house and leader of the opposition slashed all the committees except finance. He submitted move for constitution of new committees which was approved by the house. The house formed a special committee headed by Speaker Shah Ghulam Qadir. Law Minister Sardar Tahir Farooq and minister for electricity Raja Nisar Ahmed are its members. The committee would submit a report on rules and regulations.
Raja Naseer Ahmed expressing views in the house said that India was committing horrendous atrocities and war crimes in J&K. Mohtarma Noreen Arif strongly denounced Indian aggression. She said downing two planes Pakistan gave message to India that it was capable of defending its motherland, she added.
Ch. Muhammad Aziz said India had crossed all limits of brutalities in IHK and was also targeting civil population of AJK living closed to LoC.
