MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) A high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan made several important decisions here on Wednesday.
The decisions related to rehabilitation of Indian firing affected people in 11 constituencies of 4 districts, provision of first aid in any emergency, setting up of blood bank of government employees, construction of bunkers for institutions, creation of first aid posts and releasing 130 million rupees from development funds for immediate appointments. These projects would be finalized within a week, decided the meeting.
Speaker LA Shah Ghulam Qadir, minister for works Ch. Muhammad Aziz, minister for Electricity Raja Nisar Ahmed, minister for higher education Col. Waqar Ahmed Noor, minister for population welfare Dr. Mustafa Bashir, Revenue Minister Sardar Farooq Sikandar, minister for civil defense Ahmed Raza Qadri, MLA Malik Muhammad Nawaz, additional chief secretary development Dr. Syed Asif Hussain, senior member board revenue Fayyaz Ali Abbasi, secretaries, divisional commissioners and commissioner rehabilitation.
The Prime Minister and other participants of the meeting were given briefing on relief and rehabilitation and latest situation at LoC. The meeting decided that government would give priority to regions close to LoC for development projects in future. It also decided to take necessary measures to provide basic facilities to local population at LoC.
Addressing the meeting Prime Minister said that people living close to LoC are our asset hence his government would use all resources for them. He said administration and law enforcers performed tremendously during the past few days. He said more than 5 lakh population was in direct target of Indian forces firing. He added that government would take necessary measures for their safety.
