KARACHI: Karachi banking court has extended till March bail in respect of former president Asif Ali Zardari, his sister Faryal Talpur and other accused till March 11 in Mega Money Laundering case.
The Mega Money Laundering case came up for hearing before the banking court on Tuesday.
Asif Ali Zardari did not appear in the court while Faryal Talpur along with other accused appeared in the court under stringent security.
Malir Jail Police filed medical certificate of Anwar Majeed in the court taking the plea that Anwar Majeed is sick and doctors have advised him not to travel. Doctors have issued the medical certificate of Anwar Majeed.
During the hearing of the case, the investigation officer informed the court about headway made in the case. The court provided copies of the application to the accused seeking transfer of the case to Islamabad.
The counsels for the accused prayed the court to fix hearing of the case on March 12. FIA and NAB while opposing this plea requested the court to fix the case for hearing on March 07.
The court while adjourning the hearing of the case on March 11 extended the bail of Asif Ali Zardari, Faryal Talpur and others till next hearing.
