ISLAMABAD: Ministry of National Health has accorded approval to launch Islamabad Hepatitis C Free (IHCF) project.
As per media reports Health minister Amir Mehmood Kiayani will inaugurate Hepatitis Treatment Centre in Polyclinic Hospital today.
Under this project medicines for treatment of Hepatitis C will be provided free to the patients. In the first phase of this project treatment of Hepatitis and medicines will be provided to the patients free of cost in Kachchi Abadis of Islamabad.
A state of the art Hepatitis centre has been set up in Poly clinic G-7 dispensary where gene expert test machine has been installed. In the second phase free treatment will be provided to patients of Hepatitis C in Islamabad. Tests of hepatitis C patients will be taken from door to door in Kachchi Abadis and patients will be registered in Hepatitis C centre wherein they will be provided medicines free of cost.
Ministry of National Health will provide medicines free of cost in collaboration with a private company and Pakistan Research Council and the preparations for evolving PC-1 for second phase have been started.
