MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) On the eve of international civil defense day, a rally was held at Muzaffarabad on Friday which later converged into a ceremony.
The rally which included leaders of political and social organizations, volunteers of civil defense, girls guide, boy scouts, traders and a large number of citizens commenced from Upper Addah.
Later addressing a function of civil defense day, speakers including Secretary State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) DG Civil Defense Raja Irshad Ahmed, district controller Muzaffarabad, deputy commissioner Badar Munir, administrator municipal corporation Kh. Azam Rasool, PLM-N leader Manzoor Ahmed, leader joint trader’s action committee Abdul Razzak Khan and others said volunteers of civil defense are ever ready to meet eventualities be it peace or emergency situation.
It is a day to renew pledge that we have to play our role for country’s integrity, stability and take steps to combat any emergent situation facing to the country, they stated. They said civil defense department was being further strengthened and added that volunteers are being extended better facilities than before. The speakers urged the volunteers to work with passion, dedication and determination and make themselves ever ready to face the challenging situations. They also appreciated the efforts of girls guide and boy scouts for contributing volunteers works.
