NEW YORK: Pakistan permanent representative to UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi has called upon UN to take notice of Indian threats and play its due role to defuse tension in the region.
Maleeha Lodhi called on UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and informed him about the worsening situation in the region saying UN should play its role to de-escalate situation in the region.
Maleeha Lodhi said UN should take notice of Indian threats and its jingoistic statement. Secretary General has to find out the solution. Notice of Indian Forces brutalities against Kashmiris in Occupied Kashmir should be taken.
UN Security Council resolutions are there on Kashmir issue, she said adding UN Security Council should come forward to ease tension between Pakistan and India.
She told that she has appealed to General Assembly secretary general and president to play their role in the wake of prevailing situation in the region.
Maleeha Lodhi also diverted the attention of UN towards ongoing oppression in Indian held Kashmir. This fact was also put before the meeting that Pulwama incident is outcome of oppressive atmosphere maintained by Indian occupation forces in Occupied Kashmir. India is dragging region to war by linking this incident to Pakistan and this can impact Afghan peace process as well. Pakistan does not want that situation in the region becomes tense. But if India imposes war then we are ready to retaliate.
