Lahore: Chairman Pakistan Industrial & Traders Associations Front (PIAF) Mian Nauman Kabir has said that bilateral Trade agreements are very much necessary for increasing trade volume between Pakistan & Nepal. Pakistan & Nepal both have SARC members and have brotherly relations with each other. Chairman PIAF stated this while meeting with Ambassador of Nepal Sewa Lamsal.

Provincial Minister for Tourism (Punjab) Yasir Humayun was also present on the occasion. Mian Nauman Kabir discussed bilateral economic issues to promote trade ties between Pakistan & Nepal specially tourism sector was discussed in detail. Mian Nauman Kabir said that trade voume is very low between two countries “many efforts have been made but it couldnot be materialized on its optimum potential” he added.
On the occasion Sewa Lamsal invited chairman PIAF Mian Nauman Kabir along with PIAF delegation to attend investment conference viz being held in Katmandu during last week of March 2019. She also informed the participants and briefed about on going Tourism projects in Nepal. On the occasion Ambassador said that Nepal is holding this Investment Summit to share its potential with the world and Pakistani businessmen. She said that participation of Pakistani business community is also important to explore untapped opportunities, Speaking at a local hotel, she said there were a lot of investment opportunities for Pakistani investors, adding that this was the right time for businessmen to initiate ventures with Nepal. “There is a huge potential for investment in the field of infrastructure, agriculture, sports and especially the hydropower sector,” she pointed out. The ambassador highlighted that work on a free trade agreement between Nepal and Pakistan was in progress. She said lack of direct flights between the two countries and the long route through India was hindering expansion of two-way trade.
