ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has left for Munich Germany to attend Global Security Conference.
“Foreign ministers, defence ministers and security experts from several countries participate in this conference. A coherent strategy is hammered out on global security situation for future therein. I am going there to represent Pakistan. Afghan issue is under discussion across the world. Therefore, Afghan president Ashraf Ghani is also coming in this conference, he said this while talking to media men here before his departure to Germany.
Afghan president will present Afghan stance in a panel discussion and I will present Pakistan stance on Afghanistan before all, he said adding a large delegation of US Congress comprising 9 senators and 10 members of house of representatives is also coming there. I am likely to meet them.
He held Pakistan-US ties have entered a significant phase. It was my endeavor from the very first day that relations should be reset and headway is being made on this count. Their recent statements are very positive. Pakistan role is being lauded rather and there is no fingers pointing towards it. The entire world is appreciating the efforts being employed by Pakistan for peace in Afghanistan.
Qureshi will also meet foreign ministers of Russia, Germany, Canada, and Uzbekistan. “I will also try meeting Mogherini who represents the European Union on foreign affairs so that strategic enhancement plan between Pakistan and EU could be given final shape.”
