AJK PM says better sports facilities would be provided to the youth for healthy activities

MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said better sports facilities would be provided to the youth of the state for healthy activities.

The Premier was talking after inaugurating fitness center and snooker club here on Monday. The project has been completed at a cost of 35 million rupees.

Mr. Haider visited Sports Complex and reviewed the facilities there. Addressing the function, he said regular exercises save youths from sicknesses. He said physical exercises are essential in view of the fast and busy life. He said schools and colleges in Mirpur division have good playground facilities but in Muzaffarabad and Poonch no one paid heed on grounds with educational institutions.

The Prime Minister said sports like badminton, volley ball and basket balls should be played at schools and college level in the State. He also directed the concerned officials for estimates for protective walls along the Bagh cricket stadium and creation of a post of trainer in B-16 for women’s training. He said talent does not surface until good sports facilities are provided to the youth. He said women educational institutions should also have better sports facilities and sports competitions.

On the 35th anniversary of renowned Kashmiri leader Maqbool Butt Shaheed the Prime Minister demanded that his mortal remains should be handed over to his family. He said Butt was a national hero therefore his sacrifice would not go waste.

Replying to a question he said political differences are part of democracy but media should not highlight them in a negative way.
