MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government is determined to express solidarity day in a befitting manner on Feb 5.
A meeting chaired by Director General Information and Tourism Raja Azhar Iqbal to review the arrangements in this regard was held here on Tuesday. The meeting chalked out a comprehensive plan to hold solidarity day next month. All the divisional and district officers of information department were entrusted with special responsibilities. The meeting decided that a program on advertisement campaign with regard to the solidarity day would be launched by Information Department in coordination with Radio and Television. All the private media channels would hold special talk shows regarding Feb 5 and highlight the day’s importance.
Arrangements are being made for live coverage of human chains that would be made at all entry points connecting AJK with Pakistan including Kuhala, Mangla, Azad Pattan and Hollar while central function to mark the day would be held at Muzaffarabad. Information department would arrange a special documentary on the event that would be aired from cable networks and digital screens set up at different places for this purpose. The documentary would contain latest situation obtaining in Indian Occupied Kashmir, Indian atrocities and human rights abuses and highlighting importance of Kashmir Solidarity Day. Special messages and interviews of AJK President and Prime Minister with regard to importance of Feb 5 would be aired from TV channels, stations of Radio Pakistan, FM stations and cable networks.
Steps have also been made to ensure adequate advertisement from print, electronic and social media on functions and ceremonies to be held on Kashmir solidarity day. Short documentaries on Indian Occupied Kashmir would be prepared to be uploaded on social media.
The DG Information, on this occasion, directed the officers of his department including district officers for observing Kashmir solidarity day with full zeal and zest and for extensive coverage of functions in this regard. He urged all the state and national dailies to give adequate coverage to the Kashmir solidarity day and asked the writers to write columns highlighting Indian forces atrocities.
