Rawalpindi: Following the rejection of its Rs 770 million bail- out package by the Punjab government, WASA Rawalpindi has decided to increase water charges for commercial consumers to overcome its financial crisis besides ensuring uninterrupted supply of water to every home.
According to media reports the domestic water bills will not be increased. Separate bill to every shop in 875 plazas in Rawalpindi city will be served rather than sending lump sum bill.
The water charges for domestic consumers will not be increased but separate bill to each house located in 3 storeys buildings will be sent. All the commercial units in city which are being served domestic bills will be commercialized and commercial bills will be issued to them.
WASA commercial rate is 98 rupees while cantonment board charges Rs 550 against commercial use.
