RAWALPINDI: Education department Rawalpindi has stopped issuing certificates for opening new private schools in Rawalpindi. According to media reports these schools were approved during the period from September to November last year. This step has adversely affected the new admissions in these schools. All Pakistan Private Schools Management Association has voiced strong protest over withholding the certificates besides calling for immediate transfer of the respective Deputy Education Officer Shafqat ur Rehman. The members of district registration authority and president Ibrar Hussain, Furqan Chaudhry and Amir Anwar have alleged that the respective DEO is harassing the owners of private schools. They also announced that no owner of private schools will pay any amount for obtaining certificates. The delegation will meet Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner in this regard.
