KARACHI: District Council Karachi and Revenue Department have been aroused after the publication of news in media regarding 250 acres encroached area. Approximately 250 acres area of Union Council Chand Paro deh Kotiraro and Ghaghar Ali Muhammad Goth near National Highway Filter Plant was encroached by the local powerful people and were sold the land to Afghanies, Beharies, Bengalies and others in order to settle down them. In that regard, KMC Management wrote a letter to DMC to eradicate the encroached area by the pressure of published news in media and continuous protest and resistance from people because of in the supervision of Revenue Officials AC Bin Qasim Niaz Rind, DMC office Sheraz Balouch Rangers and Anti-encroachment police attacked and removed all encroached area. At that time encroachers who were present in those houses, they protested against Police and threw stones on them. Two people got injured by the reaction of police and 8 Labourmen were arrested and rest of local occupiers made off. After the end of act, police got labourmen released and registered case against two people at Anti-encroachment police Station.People of surrounding encroached area became delighted on the reaction of police and at that occasion, AC Bin Qasim Niaz told to the journalists of Malir that occupiers not only encroached 250 acres of Ali Muhammad Jokhio village but also 100 acres land of government is also occupied behind Steel Town and near Filter Plant which has been cleared. He said that they will never let anyone encroach and prompt action will be held on the information of local community people. On the other hand, KMC Taxation Officer Noor Hassan Jokhio told that notice has been sent to occupier Imam Deen Chandio but he couldn’t answer then DC Malir was implicated to act against. He said that lands in the limit of KMC is the property of District Malir and its safety is their responsibility and if occupiers will try to seize second time then all alleged Occupiers will be arrested.
