ISLAMABAD: A seminar entitled “awareness and advocacy initiative on social inclusion and hazards of drugs” was organized by Islamabad Police and Islamabad Capital territory Administration in collaboration with Roots Millennium Education held at Marriot hotel here on Saturday.
Minister of State for Interior Sheheryar Afridi was the chief guest of the ceremony, whereas Inspector General of Police Muhammad Amir Zulfiqar, CEO and founder of Mellennium Education Faisal Mushtaq, Superintendent of Police Sumaira Azam, anchorpersons Adil Abbasi and Ejazur Rehman, scores of parents, teachers and students, intellectuals and other government official attended the ceremony.
Speaking to the participant, Minister of State for Interior Sheheryar Afridi said that humanity should be the first priority following the education; if you get higher education without humanity then you should understand that you have nothing. He said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, under the supervision of Imran, opportunity would be left against the land mafias and drug peddlers, and we will make Pakistan a drug-free country. “Now a days the fall of Muslims in the education sector is a big challenge for the Muslim’s countries. There is no rising-scientist among the Muslim’s countries, we are all dependent on west from all sector of life, and this because of that we have left to study the Holy Quran and Islamic studies,” Afridi maintained, adding that they should build strong relationship among the Muslim’s countries to work jointly.
Insepector General of Police Amir Zulfiqar said that parents could a dynomic role to refrain their children from drug addiction as compare to police, becuase youth are rapidly going toward the drug addiction and there is shortage of 7000 constables in only Islamabad. He added that if you have any information about drug-peddlers then you should inform the police, because without your coordination police could do nothing. He stressed to the students to focus on education.
While breifing to the participant, SP Sumaira Azam went to say that police were trying to implement the law by launching crack-down against the drug-users and drug-peddlers, but it is also our moral duty to educate the community because drug is life taking poison spreading speedly in every sector especially in educational institutions. She further added that almost 65 per cent of the population comprised of youth, so we should work hard to stop our youth from the curse of the drug.
CEO and founder of Millennium Education Faisal Mushtaq and anchorpersons Adil Abbasi and Ejazur Rehman also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the diseases caused by drugs. Appreciating the efforts of police, the speakers paid tribute to the police department.
