MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The newly elected deputy speaker of AJK legislative assembly Sardar Amir Altaf vowed to follow the footprints of his grandfather who he said was a historical personality and one of the most popular public leaders in Poonch.
Talking to media here on Friday, he said the post of deputy speaker was an important responsibility and he would utilize his best capabilities to discharge it. People of his constituency gave such an overwhelming mandate to him for great performance of PML-N in the last two and half years, he added. He appreciated the NTS system and said whatever little flaws are there they would be set right too. He said capable youth of even poor people were selected through NTS for the first time. In the past only favorites were adjusted on the basis of political affiliations for different jobs, he stated.
Altaf expressed profound gratitude to Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, senior leadership of PML-N and MLAs for electing him as deputy speaker.
