ISLAMABAD: Setting up of PML-N in AJK helped strengthen the relations and bonds of people of Azad Kashmir and Pakistan.
AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan expressed these views while addressing the central working committee meeting of PML-N AJK here on Friday. The relation that was set up in 2010 in AJK, its foundation was laid by founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in 1944, he added. He said people of AJK practically demonstrated love with Quaid-e-Pakistan Muhammad Nawaz Sharif by giving overwhelming mandate to PML-N in in AJK the general elections in 2016.
Sharif he said strengthened further this relation with Kashmiris by resolving their seven decade’s old issues. AJK government in its two and half years worked for the welfare of its masses as per vision of Sharif for growth and development, he stated. He said comprehensive policies were formulated to uplift the standard of life of common man in the State. He said restoration of merit and good governance was a long dream of people of Azad Kashmir which was materialized by his government.
“Introduction of NTS, free emergency health service in hospitals, restructuring of PSC, regaining of powers by AJK government and assembly after 44 years, doubling of development budget for AJK by federal government, enhancement of share of AJK from 2.4 to 3.6 in NFC award after 1992, water use charges and net hydro power generation profit are some of the achievements of PML-N government” he said. He urged the ministers to stay in contact with workers of the party and resolve their problems on priority. He said Pakistan witnessed record development in the country when Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif were in power.
The meeting decided that membership drive would be kicked off all over AJK from March next. It also decided for reorganization of youth wing, MSFN, social media wing, women wing apart from holding central and district conventions of the party.
The meeting reviewed the latest situation obtaining in IHK and through a resolution, strongly denounced unprovoked shelling from across the LoC. Another resolution reposed confidence in the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Raja Farooq Haider Khan.
The meeting was attended by Ch. Tariq Farooq, Shah Ghulam Qadir, ministers, MLAs, members central executive council, divisional and district representatives, Presidents women and youth wings while central secretary of PML-N Ehsan Iqbal was a special guest on the occasion.
