IHC CJ orders verification of employees’ academic degrees

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court Chief Justice Athar Minallah on Friday directed authorities to initiate verification of academic degrees of the court’s employees, the notification issued by IHC’s Registrar Office said.
The directives were issued over suspicion of academic degrees of some employees working at the high court, sources said.
According to the notification, employees were directed submit their educational degrees within next 10 days at admin branch.
In July 2018, the former chief justice Saqib Nisar ordered the country-wide verification of lawyers’ degrees from 2005 onwards. The orders were given as Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar who heard a suo motu case regarding the verification of degrees.
The chief justice directed that the verification process will take place at the additional registrar’s office. He also directed the bar associations of the country to cooperate with the top court on the matter.
