MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) A high level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan on Monday decided to hold Kashmir solidarity day, falling on February 5, with great enthusiasm.
The high level meeting observed that Indian forces had intensified its cruelties, repressions and flagrant human rights abuses for the past couple of months, martyring scores of Kashmiri youth and wounding women, children and elderly persons in IHK.
The meeting disclosed that Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan would be invited to address AJK legislative assembly while special invitation would be extended to chief minister Gilgit Baltistan to take part in the functions on Feb 5. The other steps to be taken including torching on Nilochi Bridge on Feb 4 in memory of Kashmir martyrs. Declamation contests among male and female students of educational institutions including Universities would be held on the same day. AJK Prime Minister would be chief guest in these contests.
Mr. Haider ordered to immediately construct a new chowk at Upper Addah Muzaffarabad on the pattern of Lal Chowk Srinagar. He sought a report from central design office to build a memorial for Kashmiri martyrs at the chowk of New Secretariat. A big rally would be taken out from district complex headquarters which would march to UN military observer. The rally to be participated by people of all walks of life would be led by the Prime Minister. Human chains would be formed at all the points connecting AJK with Pakistan which would be participated by people of both sides including some renowned personalities and politicians.
PM Haider directed ministers and MLAs to visit all refugee camps with regard to observing solidarity day. He urged the commissioners of all the three divisions to personally supervise the cleanliness drive in refugee camps in their respective divisions and submit a report in this regard. The Premier said that PEMRA would be contacted for coverage of solidarity day. He also gave immediate direction to replace Kashmir Liberation Cell with Jammu Kashmir Liberation Cell. The meeting named Secretary Information, tourism and IT Ms. Midhat Shahzad as focal person. It decided to launch a campaign on social media to highlight increased atrocities of Indian forces in IHK. Another special drive would be launched to apprise the new generation on UNSC resolutions, added the meeting.
