Licenses of 16 pilots, 65 cabin crew suspended in degree case
ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) while declaring that licenses of 16 pilots and 65 cabin crew have been suspended for holding fake degrees has disposed of fake degree case.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar took up for hearing pilots and cabin crew degree case Wednesday.
Counsel for Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) told the court that all the degrees except 6 have been verified and degrees of 16 pilots and 65 cabin crew were found fake and their licenses have been suspended. 6 degrees are yet to be verified as these degree holders are outside the country.
CJP remarked such impression is there that haste is being shown on court’s orders.
He further remarked “ we don’t want to impose restrictions on some one’s livelihood. The record on the basis of which licenses of pilots and cabin crew were suspended should be correct.
Counsel for CAA said pilots has right to appeal against the suspension of degrees.
An affected pilot who was present in court room said that his degree was genuine and even then his license was suspended.
CJP remarked whosoever has any problem should approach proper forum.
The court maintained the degrees of 16 pilots and 65 cabin crews of all airlines were found fake and their licenses have been suspended.
