Dr. Hasnat Khan visits RIC Rawalpindi
Rawalpindi: Dr. Hasnat Khan, one of the world renowned cardiothoracic surgeonat Basildon University Hospital, UK, on Thursday paid a visit to Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology and conducted a workshop in operating patients with complex cardiac pathologies.
He was accompanied by his team which comprised of Dr. Walter Sarino, an expert in cardiac imaging, two anesthetists and two nurses.
It is worth to mention here that Dr. Khan has been regularly visiting the RIC over the last 5 years to impart training to the young and budding cardiac surgeons of the institute. During his 6-day stay, Dr. Hasnat assisted and performed surgeries of 12 complex cardiac patients.
Maj. Gen. (R) Dr. Azhar Mahmood Kayani thanked Dr. Hasnat Khan and his team members for coming to the institute and sharing his valuable experience and expertise with the young and budding cardiac surgeons of the institute.
Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology has become a centre of excellence in providing latest and state of the art treatment to patients with cardiac diseases. Renowned cardiologists and cardiac surgeons of worldwide fame have been regularly visiting the institute over the past few years to conduct workshops and seminars, the purpose being to share their expertise and train the cardiologists and cardiac surgeons of the institute with the latest techniques in managing patients with complex cardiac ailments.
