Birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, paying tributes to him concluded at UoS

Sargodha: A weeklong celebration in connection with the birth anniversary of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, paying tribute to the founder of Pakistan concluded on Monday at University of Sargodha.
The purpose of weeklong celebration was to highlight the charismatic personality of Quaid-i-Azam and his vision regarding the establishment of Pakistan.
During the week, several programs including speech and debate competitions, national songs competitions and sports events have been arranged by the various Departments of the University to pay tribute to the great leader and highlight his life and leadership who acquired a separate homeland for the Muslims of sub-continent.
In this respect, a colourful ended ceremony featuring various performances and artistic work by students was jointly organized by the Riaz Shad Co-curricular Forum and the Institute of Art and Design, University of Sargodha acknowledging and commemorating the contributions of Quaid-i-Azam for the creation of Pakistan. The ceremony was attended by a number of students, staff and faculty members.
The ceremony was specially honored by Abdul Jalil, famously known as ‘Chacha Cricket’ wearing a green dress with a white star and crescent on it.
A ‘Rhythm of Unity’ diversity show was performed by students from the music society of the University in which they depicted folk music from all provinces while ‘Chacha Cricket’ enthusiastically waved the Green flag during the whole performance.
Dean Faculty of Agriculture, Dr Muhammad Afzal inaugurated the art exhibition arranged by the students of Institute of Art and Design highlighting life, achievements and different aspects of the personality of the Quaid-i-Azam.
The exhibition featured imagery by the student artists who explored various aspects of Quaid’s message for youth. The exhibition was a blend of calligraphy, paintings, pictorial representation and sketch.
Addressing the ceremony, Chacha Cricket said that there is a dire need to promote our own identity, culture and language in every aspect life in this way we can build our own identity in this World. He further added that we all have to work together in a positive way and support each other so that we can take Pakistan at the level which our Quaid dreamed of.
Dr Muhammad Afzal and Ahmad Faraz, Director Riaz Shad Co-curricular Forum highlighted the Quaid’s teachings and thoughts about youth. They urged the need of following the vision and benefitting from the wisdom of Quaid-e-Azad to overcome challenges facing Country.
The ceremony ended at distributing prizes and certificates among the top position holders of the various competitions including art exhibition.
