Collection unit of Lahore forensic laboratory to be set up in RWP
RAWALPINDI: Decision has been taken to set up collection unit of forensic laboratory of Lahore in Rawalpindi.
All the four districts of Rawalpindi division and Azad Kashmir police will be able to deposit drugs, arms, DNA and other parcels in Rawalpindi.
The only forensic laboratory for conducting forensic of drugs, arms and DNA is located in Lahore. The police from across Punjab province file parcels of their cases in Lahore. After registration of case Investigation officer of every case brings the parcel to forensic laboratory by himself and this way his two days are wasted.
CPO Abbas Ahsan contacted the concerned authorities and it was agreed that a collection unit of forensic laboratory be set up in Rawalpindi. Building is already existing. CPO has said collection unit will soon start working.
