ISLAMABAD: NAB has decided to resort to Islamabad High Court (IHC) for enhancement in sentence of former Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif in Al-Azizia reference.
NAB prosecution team has worked out an appeal plea in this regard. It is said therein that 7 years sentence awarded to Nawaz Sharif be enhanced.
Appeal said Nawaz Sharif inflicted loss on national kitty. However less punishment has been awarded to him in Al-Azizia reference despite the fact that prosecution proved the case with concrete evidence.
According to sources the appeal will be filed next week after obtaining approval from NAB chairman Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal.
According to NAB, less punishment has been awarded to Nawaz Sharif despite recording of their statements by 22 witnesses and presentation of solid evidence.
