Government to provide security to all parliamentarians without any discrimination says minister


Islamabad : Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan has assured opposition that government will fulfill its responsibility to provide full security to all parliamentarians.
Addressing the issue of the house security of Maulana Asad-ur-Rehman, son of Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman in National Assembly he said that Maulana Asad-ur-Rehman had asked for security guards also and the issue was had been brought in the notice of Interior Minister Shahryar Afridi.
Earlier, opposition leader in National Assembly Shahbaz Sharif had pointed out during his address that government has removed the security of the Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman’s house, although his son Maulana Asad-ur-Rehman is being living in this house with him. As he is a member of National Assembly therefore he cannot be deprived of this security.
The removal of fencing at the green belt in front of the houses in the area was also came under intense discussion as Housing Minister Tariq Cheema said “we are removing the fencing in front of all the houses, including the houses of ministers.” However, Maulana Abdul Wase heatedly responded and said the security cabin in front of the Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehan’s house has been removed without serving any prior notice.
He declared it a “discriminate” action and said it was an act of the vengeance as all the other houses in the area remain untouched except of the Maulana house.
