DG Information urges officers to highlight Govt activities through digital media


MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) The AJK, Director General Information Raja Azhar Iqbal emphasized upon the officers of his department to take full advantage of latest technology to enhance their professional capabilities.
Addressing the quarterly review meeting of divisional officers of Information department here on Thursday he stressed the officers to effectively highlight the government activities through digital media as well as monitor the negative propaganda against it.
Iqbal disclosed that web TV channel under Information department would soon be launched which would be a milestone in the age of digital media. He asked the officers to improve their performance and professional capabilities and highlight the government publicity more effectively. He said responsibilities of information department were different from other departments, it was why officers should be more vigilant and well informed in view of changing scenarios. Officers should bring in new and innovative ideas that can help improve the performance of the department, he added.
The Director General said arrangements were being made to provide training facilities to officers in electronic media to harmonize them to the changing media needs. “Government activities should be published through digital media from all districts of the state. Prime Minister’s vision of growth and development should be highlighted” he said. He said special attention was being paid to the capacity building of officers to further improve their professional skill. He said the objective of review meeting was to monitor the performance of officers and determine new policies.
The officers presented their progress reports in the meeting.
