PML-N candidate to sweep by elections in Poonch: AJK PM

MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) PML-N candidate Sardar Tahir Anwar would sweep the by-elections in Poonch.
AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider asserted this while addressing joint worker’s convention of PML-N, PML-N Youth Wing and MSFN here on Wednesday. He disclosed that Mr. Nawaz Sharif had issued the ticket to Anwar and claimed that the seat would be presented to the party Quaid as a gift after winning it.
“Death of Khalid Ibrahim is a national loss. Had Haji Yaqub not announced to contest by-elections we would not have fielded our candidate for elections either” he said. However, he expressed sympathies with Hassan Ibrahim, son of late Khalid Ibrahim.
He said he was proud that his family had close ties with Ghazi-e-Millat family adding that his father launched freedom struggle and right for franchise with Sardar Muhammad Ibrahim Khan.
Commenting on Haji Yaqub’s contesting elections, he said Haji was making an abortive attempt to become MLA again while memories of people of Poonch are fresh what he did for them as President, PM and minister.
He expressed optimism that after a landslide victory in the by-election in Hajira PML-N candidate would also return victorious in the election of Poonch.
Addressing the convention government ministers, Mushtaq Minhas, Ch. M. Aziz, Barrister Iftikhar Gillani, Sardar Mir Akbar, district party president Ijaz Yousuf and Tahir Anwar pointed out that recalled the brief cases sent by Yaqub to Faryal Talpur through Chaudhry Riaz during the term of PPP that earned him seat of President and PM then. They said that was hard earned money of people of Poonch. This time neither there is Zardari nor Faryal who can manipulate elections for him, they added.
