Islamabad : The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday adjourned hearing of a case pertaining to the missing person.
The court adjourned the hearing on the request of Assistant Attorney General Abdul Jabbar. The hearing was fixed by the IHC last week regarding imposition Rs two million fine and salary deduction of secretary defence and other official’s quarters and the stakeholders had challenged the ruling.
The IHC divisional bench had fixed the hearing on the request of the ministry of defence.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah and Justice Mian Gul Hassan Aurangzeb conducted hearing of the case. The AAG bagged more time for preparation. The court while accepting his request adjourned the case till indefinite period.
It is pertinent to mention here that a single-member bench of Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani had ordered deduction in salaries of Interior and defence secretaries and IG Islamabad for their failure to recover a missing person on November 19 this year.
The court had also order deduction of half salary of investigation team and under the light of the court decision as many as Rs two million were supposed to deduct from their salaries collectively. The stakeholders had appealed against the single bench decision. The applicants took stance in the petition that they had nothing to do with the missing person and efforts for his recovery were still ongoing.
They also said sensitive agencies don’t have any information in this regard as well.
