Property tax increased by 10 per cent across province including Rawalpindi

Rawalpindi: Provincial government has increased the property tax by 10 per cent all across the province including Rawalpindi district.
According to media reports, Secretary Excise Punjab has issued orders to give 5 per cent rebate on payment of property taxes till December 31st to citizens across province including Rawalpindi.
It has been said in the issued orders that Rs 1.5 billion property tax has been imposed on residents of district Rawalpindi for year 2018-19.
On the other hand, 10 per cent increase in the property tax has been made this year compared to the previous year.
Secretary Excise Punjab has given tax target to all Excise officials.
Director Excise has given target to 23 excise inspectors appointed in circles of all four zones that they will have to collect Rs 500 million till December 31st.
Those residents who pay their taxes till December 31st will be given rebate of 5 per cent.
The process of collection of property tax which was suspended 4 months back has been started again after government orders.
Citizens will be able to pay their taxes from today.
