Student delegation from Taxila calls on AJK PM

MUZAFFARABAD: (Parliament Times) A delegation of Quaid-e-Azam University’s Taxila Institute of Asian Civilization called on AJK Prime Minister here on Monday.
The delegation comprising of renowned researchers Professor Dr. Ashraf Khan, Professor Ghaniur Rehman and Dr. Rukhsana Syed presented the report published, on 4-years research of Cultural Heritage of Azad Kashmir. The delegation also gave briefing to the Premier on historic cultural heritage of AJK.
PM Haider took keen interest in the cultural heritage of AJK and its uses for social, economic and tourism development. The Prime Minister had motivated the members of the delegation to carry out research on cultural heritage of AJK and submit him a report on it with their recommendations.
Mr. Haider was told by the delegation that the research work on AJK’s cultural heritage, the first of its kind, was possible by the grant of Higher Education Commission. “It enabled more than one hundred historic heritages to be introduced on the map of important international archeological sites. The international Universities of the world shown interest of more research on it” told the delegation.
Dr. Rukhsana Syed who is AJK’s first and internationally famed archeologist submitted her recommendations for correct illustration of AJK’s natural and cultural heritage, their safety and dissemination and use of their resources for development of social and economic development. Dr. Rukhsana told that the narrative against extremism would be strengthened through its results.
Lauding the research of the delegation PM Haider said it would not only help promote Pakistan’s soft image in the world but also highlight the role of country to provide resources for research activities in AJK. He said expert’s research would also introduce AJK as a tourist destination internationally. It would also help promote tourism in the State which would result into bringing the graph of unemployment down, he remarked.
