People show low interest in PM housing project

Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan’s proposal of constructing five million houses ‘could not’ get popularity among the public as only 176,000 people registered themselves in the initial 100 days.
The low registration of people for the scheme depicts that the public was not interested the housing project, citing it impractical.
According to details, Prime Minister Imran Khan, soon after taking charge of the country, had announced this mega project. The government had announced that people can submit their applications in different banks.
The sources, however, said on Monday that out of 220 million Pakistanis 176,000 people applied for the scheme. One of the factors was that the people were yet not ready to trust in Imran Khan’s promises. People consider the prime minister’s plan of constructing 5 million houses as an empty slogan.
The opposition parties have also strongly criticized the announcement, terming it an impractical project which cannot be completed. However, the government is constantly defending the project. It has termed the project as practically implementable.
The sources said that until the development of trust of the people on Imran Khan’s leadership the project would not be succeeded.
The last date of form submission is December 31 this year.
