Islamabad: After showcasing Pakistan’s rich folk culture, a seven-day Lok Mela organised by Lok Virsa concluded on Sunday.
A large number of citizens from twin cities throng to the venue to enjoy traditional festival.
According to details, more than 100,000 people visited the festival in seven days and spent colorful time. The cultural festival was representing the folk culture of all four provinces, beside Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Artist and artisan belong to different region of the country represented their respective regions folk and traditional culture.
Strict security measures were taken to avoid untoward situation.
Shaista Rehman, an artist from AJK, represented his area folk culture. She was of the view that Lok Virsa’s measures to provided opportunities to artists like her to showcase their skills and expertise.
She said that visitors’ response was encouraging in the seven days of folk festival. She said appealed the government to regularly organize such events so that the people living in Islamabad and surrounding areas can be aware from their folk culture.
