Rawalakot: (Parliament Times) The former president of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and central leader of Pakistan Peoples Party-Kashmir chapter Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan on Monday announced to contest by-elections from LA-19 Rawalakot seat, which was left vacant after the demise of veteran politician Sardar Khalid Ibraheem Khan.
According to a press release Khan said, “The top leadership of the party has formally allowed me to contest the elections”. Urging his party workers to gear up for the electoral battle the former president expressed the optimism that he will win the elections on the basis of the PPP’s previous government’s performance in the region. Reiterating his resolve to fight for the fundamental rights of common masses he regrettably noted that no attention whatsoever was paid in the past to resolve problems faced by the people in this constituency.
