TB hospital Murree to be upgraded as general hospital

RAWALPINDI: Government has decided to accord status of general hospital to TB hospital Murree besides upgrading all 6 Tehsil Headquarters hospitals of Rawalpindi district.
According to media reports, the number of beds will also be increased to 400 of Murree TB hospital following its upgradation to general hospital. An OPD equipped with state of the art facilities and operation theatres will also be set up in the said hospital.
This TB hospital consists of 2oo beds only at present. But number of patients who are admitted range between 30 to 70. TB hospital will also continue to function even after its upgradation as general hospital.
This hospital will be given new name of Murree general hospital.
Punjab health minister visited this hospital and accorded it status of general hospital during his visit. This decision will stand implemented in 2019.
