Sargodha: The unidentified armed men ambushed a police convoy on Sunday in Kachcha Sarkar, Sargodha, killing a notorious absconder criminal Tariq Shah in exchange of fire.
The notorious criminal Tariq Shah was being taken in a police van to identify some seized weapons when four unarmed men opened fire. Police, in retaliation , also opened fire and during trade of fire Tariq Shah sustained serious injuries and later he succumbed to his wounds, said RPO Police office.
The attackers managed to escape and police informed the high-ups about the incident and registered the First Information Report (FIR) against the unidentified persons and barricaded the area immediately.
Tariq Shah had abducted a 9th class student of Tarag high school for ransom in an old enmity.
