Islamabad : The political and military leadership of the country has made it clear that neither any compromise would be made on national security nor no one would be allowed to take law in his hand in future.
This was discussed in a high level meeting on national security that was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Imran Khan that lasted more than three hours.
Those who attended the meeting included Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Defence Minister Pervez Khan Khattak, Finance Minister. Asad Umar, Information Minister Fawad Hussain Chaudhary, State Minister for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Zubair Mahmood Hayat, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa , DG ISI Lt. Gen. Asim Munir and DG ISPR Maj. Gen. Asif Ghafoor .
The Prime Minister apprised the meeting about his recent tour to China ,meetings with Chinese leadership especially meeting with President Xi Jinping and possible financial help from China to coup with the trade deficit . Prime Minister Imran Khan took the meeting into confidence
The meeting also discussed the current state of national security. It agreed on the point that though the overall situation of law and order is satisfactory but the prosperity and development depends upon peace and stability of the country. The meeting also discussed the situation arose in the shape of rampage from the recent sit-ins in wake of acquittal of Aasia Bibi by the Supreme Court.
National Security meeting also conversed on the security on Pak Afghan border and peace process in Afghanistan .
Before the meeting , Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa had a separate meeting in which matters to national security and PM’s recent trip to China were discussed.
