    Violent protests, destruction: Cases registered against 500 people in Capital

    Islamabad: Cases against 500 people in Islamabad has been registered upon charges of making violent demonstrations and damage after Supreme Court decision to free Christian female Asia Bibi in Blasphemy charges.
    Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat has said that 12 people were apprehended in the charges of destruction while orders for sending 19 people in jail under maintenance public order (MPO) have also been issued.
    According to DC Islamabad, 33 people who did great harm to public property and hold violent protests have been identified while the process to make further arrests is underway.
    It is vital to mention here that Apex Court while setting aside the decision of subordinate courts of awarding death sentence to Asia Bibi in blasphemy case ordered to free her on Oct 31.
    After this religious parties hold demonstrations all over the country against SC decision and did destruction and damage to public property and set many motorcycles and vehicles on fire.
