What is use of electing PM if he can not suspend IG: Information Minister

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry has said if Prime Minister (PM) can not suspend IG then what is use of electing PM and holding election.
“ How can an IG do this that he does not attend to a federal minister telephonic call and does not bother to call back. If government has to be run through bureaucrats then election should not have been conducted. If PM can not suspend IG then what is use of electing PM and holding election”, he said this while talking to media men here Tuesday.
He held if government officer does not attend to telephonic calls of government, opposition and members of assembly then how will political monitoring be conducted. Then there is no rule of democracy but it will be rule of Elite-. Chief executive of country is PM and chief executive of province is Chief Minister (CM). IG is accountable to PM and CM. Narrative is being made that government officer should not attend phone then he will become hero. This will lead the country to anarchy”.
He went on to say that earlier state minister for interior Shehr Yar Afridi had complained to PM that Islamabad Police was not taking any action against drug peddlers in educational institutions. IG Islamabad is neither cooperating in this respect nor is he attending the telephone.
Afridi had also complained to PM that Islamabad police is taking bribery in police stations and pickets and IG was not cooperating to eliminate this curse, he added.
He underlined that bureaucracy is not implementing government policy in certain matters. Action will be taken against whosoever does not implement our policy.
He stated “ Supreme Court is a respectable institution and we will present our stance therein.
When Imran’s house was constructed in Bani Gala then it did not fall in the jurisdiction of Islamabad. It was part of Mora Noor Union Council. They allowed him to construct home. After 30 years CDA included the home in their jurisdiction. But the houses constructed there earlier were constructed under previous law. No illegal thing is therein.
He underscored that Nawaz Sharif politics has been reduced to this level that he can come to parliament house only to meet others. The dispute between Asif Zardari and Shahbaz Sharif is this that who is bigger between the two.
He held that APC is going to be held to seek NRO. Fazlur Rehman and Asif Zardari want assurance from PM Imran Khan that cases against them should be quashed then the democracy will be restored. Come what may NRO will not take place.
He indicated that Shahbaz Sharif cannot be made PAC chairman. Will he convene PAC in jail.
To a question he said we are saying “Na Ro” (don’t weep) and opposition is saying NRO.
