Rawalpindi: In order to provide clean drinking water to 3, 00,000 population of district Rawalpindi and for irrigation of hundreds acres of land, feasibility report of Chahan Dam has been prepared.
According to media reports, this project will cost Rs 5 billion and it will be completed in 3 years till 2021.
6 million gallon water will be supplied to citizens of Rawalpindi daily while 6 big union councils of district Rawalpindi including Dhaman Syedan, Dhamyal, Kalyaal, Garja, Chakra, Chak Jalal Deen will be supplied water.
A treatment plant will also be set up for water supply.
Supply line , 28 inches deep will be carpeted from dam to city and a pumping station will be established at Garja to speed up water supply besides construction of overhead tanks.
Initially Rs 200 million has been released for carpeting of pipeline from dam to city.
On the other hand, arrangements for construction of Dadhocha dam have also been sped up.
The construction of Dadhocha dam will be initiated from the start of New Year and it will be completed within the record time of 2 years.
