Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar has taken notice of transfer of IG Islamabad.
A three member bench of SC, presided over by Chief Justice of Pakistan took up the case for hearing on Monday.
During the course of hearing of case CJP took notice of transfer of IG Islamabad Jan Muhammad .
CJP summoned secretary interior and attorney general forthwith and remarked, “Attorney General and Secretary Interior should tell on what reasons IG had been ordered to report to establishment division last day.
CJP remarked, we have come to know that IG‘s transfer was made on the recommendation of any minister.
“ We will not allow state institutions to be made weak and also will not tolerate any political interference in the police department. There will be rule of law , CJP observed.
Chief Justice observed, “We have also received information that there was an issue of the son of a minister therefore IG was transferred.
It is vital to mention here that IG Islamabad Jan Muhammad was transferred a day earlier after which reports surfaced that IG was transferred upon refusal to comply with orders of a federal minister.
Federal government had already transferred Punjab IG Police Tahir Khan just after one month and two days of his service and former IG Sindh Amjad Javed Saleemi was appointed in his place.
Apart from that, transfer of DPO Pak Pattan Rizwan Gondal was also made suddenly and CJP had taken suo motu notice on that matter.
