PHA chalks ambitious Safari, Botanical, Suzo park construction in Rawalpindi


Rawalpindi: Parks and Horticulture Authority Rawalpindi has chalked out a plan to construct a Safari Park, Suzo Park and Botanical Park on 50 acres of Lohi Bheer Park .
Currently the Lohi Bheer Park is facing abject financial crises.
According to media reports, Director PHA Saif Anwar Japa confirmed that an application has been submitted to Government of Punjab through Commissioner Rawalpindi for the acquisition of 50 acres of Lohi Bheer Park land for PHA to materialize the plan.
On the other hand PHA has requested the Punjab Government to pay one year salary of its employees owing to the fact that the only source of its revenue generation has stopped.
The plan entails opening of a MacDonald’s outlet at Nawaz Sharif Park, construction of a filling station at Shehbaz Sharif Park and transfer of land adjacent to Kid’s Park at commercial market and Nawaz Sharif Park to PHA.
According to Director PHA the annual revenue of PHA was Rs Rs 180.50 million annually.
